承印物表面带电,如纸张、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、玻璃纸等,会吸附纸屑或漂浮在空气中的灰尘、杂质等,影响油墨转移,使印刷品发花等,造成印刷品质量下降。其次如油墨带电荷,在移动中放电,在印刷品上会出现“静电墨斑”,在层次薄版印刷中常出现这种情况。在实地印刷中,如带电油墨在印刷品边缘上放电,很容易在边缘出现“墨须”。

1.化学法

在承印物表面上涂一层抗静电剂,使承印物导电,成为稍微导电的绝缘体。化学的应用在实际中有很大局限,比如在印刷纸张中加入化学成分时,对纸张品质产生不良影响,如降低纸的强度、附着力、紧密度、抗拉强度等,因此化学方式不太被广泛使用。

(1)接地法,使用金属导体将要静电的物质和大地连接,与大地等电位,但这种方式对绝缘体没有效果。
